    Re: Quota hunt permit gaming-
I hunted a well known South Florida wma , takes 5-7 years to pull a first hunt on,and ran into 2 different hunters that were gaming. One said he had First , second and third archery and told me where his stand was (as if I should stay out of his area)???.... another guy I ran into wound up killing a deer we were both scouting during an archery hunt . He came in after me and hunted a ground blind he set up after I was already set up, I never saw him come in, nor did I know he was hunting back there.I wound up talking to him for a while, and he said the area we were hunting was like his own private lease and he gets multiple permits every year because he signs up all his relatives, and kids of his relatives, friends, etc... Also understand that youth hunters don’t require a license and don’t carry identification so use your imagination. They get multiple hunts and return some they have doubles of or don’t want to hunt to keep their points for the next year. They are way ahead of the crowd with points so they get hunts every year. Most of the time the permitted hunter is sitting in camp..... Hickory hammock has the same few guys hunting it every year! Just notice how many of the permits get returned. They will keep about 2 of the the 5 permits for each hunt, the rest go to redraw to keep their points.Probably no way to stop it, but it is going on....
