WOW  today i opened up the gas tank coffin lid only to see the rubber fuel line and breather hose completely rotted away, just venting into the hull, instead of fixing it, they actually took the sending unit off the tank, made a wood block and added a fuel filler with twist off lid, then cut a 6" access hole with round port to fill the tank. Unbelievable ! and when i cut open gunnel under the fuel filler neck, the hoses were completely rotted away in there too. Some people really have no business working on boats, i really cant believe it didn't blow up.

  • Transom rebuild went well, although was hard to lay up the one piece sections that went across entire transom, additional layers i had some extra hands to help with the large sheet of glass especially since we pre soaked it in resin. started some skim coats getting ready for gel coat

  • then found the wood core of the dash all rotted as well so had to cut out the slope and the entire top of consoleNew slop insert was made from 1/2" marine plywood with 2 layers of 1708 and west epoxy.

  • Currently Rebuilding a 86' Mako 224, had to core entire transom with a arbor bit, rebuilt inside with krk2000
then 5 layers of 1708 on both sides, would lobe to cut out those aft lockers, especially after seeing the job mako224 did in this forum. Most Excellent redesign. and the one thing i dislike the most on this boat. but not sure if i want the downtime this summer, maybe a project for next winter. :)
