I remember when discovery had shows about learning, like when MTV played music videos

It is ironic how far away from their original founding content cable channels have ventured.
MTV, CMT, VH1 = no music videos, all reality TV crap
Discovery = no educational anymore, just rip/repair/rebuild bikes and hot rods
History Channel = no more history, hillbilly gator hunters, storage locker auctions, dirty jobs
Animal Planet = surprisingly they still have the occasional show on that has to do with animals
The Learning Channel (TLC) = spoiled rotten toddlers and tiaras, no learning whatsoever
Real TV = never any *real* TV, just heavily scripted reality shows
TMC = no classics, no movies, but they do have great TV shows
