Lets hope the winds and seas lay down and we can get offshore. Looking forward to this trip, fist time out on the florida fisherman ii. How do you think the storm will affect the bite?
The pins are good. Most of the BFTs I have seen caught are on small pins or whole dead sardines floated back. But if you don't have a favorable current for your spot, fishing for pelagics next to impossible unlesss you are sight casting. What spots are you guys in?
On a fullmoon trip right after a storm boat sardines and a few dozen pinfish should be all you will need. I have tried threadfins on several trips and never had any luck with them. If you want to bring something different try scaled sardines. They will stay alive if you don't mix them in the livewell with pins. And they will get bit. Also you can catch beeliners when you are out there. I will be on this trip and I think with the fullmoon and possible dirty water from the storm, boat sardines are probable going to catch the most fish. For the last few trips it has been hard to get livebait past the aj's. Knowing that I still won't go out there without as many pins as my livewell will hold. You never know. It sucks to be without live bait when that's what they are biting. You might want to catch some fresh pins in addition to the ones you buy At the dock. The big aj's have been eating big fresh baits. Good luck
