hey guys i saw that you can are exempt from having to have a fishing license, snook stamp and spiny lobster permit if you are on government assistance as long as you fish from land. i was always told that once you wade in the water you are no longer on land and need a license you need for a boat. with this exemption how do you get lobster since i was under the impression you have to dive for lobsters. if any one can shed some light on this it would be nice.

You are still considered fishing from land while wading if the water level not above your knees (or possible below mid thigh) and you did not use a boat to get to the wading area. However, I doubt this exemption would provide you with a lobster stamp since lobstering would entail departing land in some form or fashion. (BTW a lobster caught accidentally on hook and line is actually in violation, and by law, should be released.)

If you are on financial assistance that came from your neighbor's taxes (the govt doesn't produce, it takes) you should not be out fishing. You should be working at something to get off the assistance. How many job applications wash up on the beach? If you are providing your own food by fishing/hunting/gathering, then you don't need your neighbors money to buy it. Just my opinion and don't take it personal, there are exceptions to everything.

I buy a license every year and I work. My tattoo artist is the one of food stamps since he doesn't make enough tattooing.
