Venture Out Resort

Looking at planning a family vacation and fishing trip to the Panama City area. We are looking at renting a place at Venture Out Resort. Anyone ever stay there or have any opinions of the place? Looks decent on the web but lots of places do......

It's really close to the park and looks quiet. Unfortunately that's all I got.

Close to the state park but really just a trailer park. I have been renting this place because it has a boat dock for my rig. Maryellen is a great landlord. Tell her Joe sent you. http://www.flipkey.com/panama-city-beach-condo-rentals/p265044/

A friend of mine is an owner there, so I have fished out of there often. A good ramp and docks, conveniently located just to the East of the Thomas Drive bridge on Grand Lagoon and right next to Pirates Cove Marina (they have diesel & non ethanol gas). They have a pool, picnic area, fishing pier with a good fish cleaning area. The units are pretty close, but a very friendly family atmosphere. The biggest problem is trailer storage, but they do rent storage spaces near the entrance. I would caution you to stay in the marked channels to the center of the lagoon , as it is very shallow with oyster bars & sand bars in the area. The ramp area is pretty tight, so if you have a larger boat, you might have to back the rig from the entrance to the ramp area instead of right at the ramp, but there is plenty of room to maneuver.

I have had a couple of enjoyable stays there and would recommend it. It is sort of like a Homeowner's association with lots of rules but they aren't impossible to follow.

We stay there when my usual rental is not available. My only gripe is paying for storing the trailer and docking the boat. We also got hit for a golf cart fee because the owner had one but its fairly quiet and never had any troubles. Will stay there again when the need arises.
