Everglades Holiday Park

Any word on when the govt is supposed to come in and take over? Hope they don't ruin the last piece of "old Florida" left in Broward County!

June 2012 is when Broward County will assume the lead at Holiday Park. They have 'always' owned it, leasing it to FWC, who in turn sublet to the concessionare.

Oh the fond memories of Holiday Park. With their 14' fisher marine jon boats, I doubt you could tip over. All the mudfish and pickerel you care to get broke off while trying to catch bass, and dual engine/ prop 20 passenger airboats that made you hate that you had ears when they were close by.

One time I was there back in the early 80's and saw a Winnebago launching a bass boat at the ramp, when the back end floated up and the driver didnt have the presence of mind to lock the brakes before he could get help. Yep, you guessed it. Floated out into the middle of the canal.

Those were the days, my friend.
