With it's feet firmly planted in the Gulf, now it's time for EDF to focus more attention in the South Atlantic.

Gretchen Bath Martin joined Environmental Defense Fund in 2011, after spending 12 years as an ecologist and research fishery biologist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). As Senior Conservation Manager for EDF, she manages the day-to-day operations of our work in the South Atlantic, advancing incentive-based fisheries management programs for commercial and recreational fishing in the region.

Gretchen works directly with marine stakeholders, including fishermen, the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council and others to end overfishing through development of regional catch share programs.

She conducts a variety of outreach activities to educate and engage fishermen directly into the fishery management process. She also performs research and analysis on regional fisheries issues to aid in development of catch shares and other meaningful fisheries management reforms in the region.

Rob, wasn't it you who not long ago predicted they would be after you guys with catch shares?
Sorry to see it coming your way too.
THERE SHOULD BE NO COMMERCIAL FISHING ALLOWED FOR ANY SPECIES THAT IS CONSIDERED OVERFISHED.

Yes...At least we have a strong Comm Sector that's against it here in the SA. It'll make it tougher.

If you look at the history they start here in the Gulf and then head that way. Remember all those Grouper meetings we went to Jerry? That was what, 2003?

What I believe you're actually seeing with the change in personnel is just the shifting of their flags. I leave it up to the observer to determine which was the "false" flag. Their agenda is un-changing that's why a change in Washington is so important in my opinion.

November 2012, it just can't come soon enough....
