New Smaller Evinrude Outboards - 3.5 to 15hp

BillgranBillgran Posts: 350 Deckhand
With availability in April, Evinrude has new line of small motors they call Evinrude Portables. Now the die hard owner can have a blue painted Evinrude for his jon-boat, pontoon, sailboat, or as a lightweight kicker motor for his off-shore rig. These are carbureted 4-strokes made by Tohatsu to help fill the small motor gap in the Evinrude line-up.

I was going to say "It's about **** time" but if it's a Tohatsu.. why not buy a Merc with the controls in the tiller? Or if price is the concern, why not buy a Tohatsu and eliminate the middle man?

Some folks may want something with an Evinrude name that is also warranted and serviced by their existing Evinrude dealer. Some may want a motor to match their bigger one. Not only that but there are very few Tohatsu dealers in the US compared to the other major brands.
