Securing a velcro strap under the quick release puck and wrapping it around the motor shaft may reduce bracket bounce during running. Unfortunately the trolling motor tie-down strap from Rod Saver likely won’t be long enough for your design.
i rigged up a support for up by the head yesterday. Nothing worthy of a patent but it looks like its going to work. Its probably going to be a week before i get a chance to run it to see how it all does. i'll make sure to report back.
I know it's a different model but maybe if there's a clamp that will go around the shaft and you mount a support...will the motor always store at that length/angle?
think i'm finally confident. added a sliding mount and tapped a whole for quick screw while extended then added a backstop just incase screw vibrated out. now the motor is over the bow while on the run.
