Humminbird SI Transducer Install

Snook DoggSnook Dogg Posts: 81 Deckhand
Just finally got around to installing my new 898 unit and have a quick question regarding the transducer install. I followed the instructions and tighted all of the bolts down, but the ducer seems to have slight play after tightening. Nothing major, but if you press the ducer from the bottom up lightly, it will move, but very minimal. I guess what i am trying to say is it is not stiff at all. I just am trying to avoid turbulent readings if the unit was to move in the water while on plane. Any input is appreciated!

Thanks

Mine has play in it as well and does'nt affect readings at all, provided it's installed correctly.

This is standard due to it being a kick up bracket. It you happen so to hit something in the water the transducer will kick up and not snap the transducer off of the back of the boat.
