Grouper SW of Sanibel light house 12/29/11

Well it was a cold ride out brrr!!! we ran out to the honey hole, there were rollers all the way out,ran about 23 mph easy ride..Drift was kind of fast for cold water,we were into reds as soon as we dropped down we must have caught 50 or more most were 18 to 191/2 inches calmed down so anchored up hook ups were constant all of use were rocked up with bigger fish. At about 2:00 i moved to another number it was the AJ hole dropes from 68 to 75 ft caught keepers to 22 inch..I had a smaller red on and what do i see following it up but 4 huge AJ`s they came around the boat a number of times as we were reeling in fish by now it was 3:30 had to head for the barn..Next time it will be the first stop with live bait in the well and plenty of chum going over the side, the ledge would be the place to anchor and spend the day. Great day on the water!!!

Thanks for the report. I will be going out of red fish tomorrow . I was thinking of going SW in your area, but I mostly catch gags down there. did you detect any red tide?

great day on the water w/ good friends. you bet it was cold...I was one of the guys in the front seat! but it sure did warm up as soon as we dropped down. larry can sure put you on some fish, I guess he's got some fish blood run'n though his veins. It was pretty much none stop action most of the day. great day larry, we'll have to do it again somtime! :USA

Hey Frankie, good to see ya got out. We also went S/W before the red tide and got slammed with gags up to 14 pounds, which had to go back.
Worked our way through tons of short red also

I enjoy reading your posts...keep'm com'n. hope ya nail that **** who grabbed your motor, too

Good to hear you had sore shoulders, must be gettin old!:rotflmao, like me! Also sent you a PM with new contact info.

I hate these new regs ecpecially this time of year when you could have 4-7 miles off rather then 20 and pulling gags

BTW Happy New Year best for a safe and prosperous one for all.
