Banana River 12-30-11

I met up with Fish4Reds on the Banana River this morning for a little redfish action. Beautiful morning. Glassy water for much of the day. The water has cleared up a bit and it allowed for some sight fishing. I sight fished 3 reds with a pearl jerk bait. All around 22"s.

Here's a pic of one of my 22"rs

I saw a lot of upper/over slot fish cruising but they were all on the move and I couldn't get a good presentation to them.Fish4reds got a couple as well about the same size. we both caught numerous trout between 18-24"s. Guess they knew they were still out of season for a couple days. Wherever we saw a concentration of bait those trout would be there. Then it was break time. Fish4reds anchored up and started throwing a cal and bing, 39"er comes out of a pretty good size school.

After they calmed down they came right back to us. They were in a couple feet of murky water so we both soaked a bait. Fish4reds a gulp shrimp, me a mullet chunk. Fish4reds hooks up first with a nice 36" red.

I hook up a little while later with a 33"er.

We called it a day after that fish and began the paddle home. Good times
