Not knowing all the details yet, I would like to see if the "stand your ground" statute is going to be used, and if so the outcome.
Two things.... The victim of the attempted motorcycle theft later told sheriff's detectives that he thought he saw a weapon on one of the alleged thieves. He shouted out to leave the bike and then one of the men reached to his waist, pulled something out and pointed it at him.

According to court records, Young was out probation until 2016. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder while wearing a mask, four counts of shooting into a building and six counts of delinquent in possession of a firearm.
The plea was in response to a grand jury indicting him July 2010, along with Ontavious Moore and Augustus Fontaine, in the attempted murders of 17-year-old Bernard Jones, and Marvin Crowley, Jr. and Tavaris Fox, both 15.
So, I am going to say "yeah!" unless new info comes up otherwise.
If I'm rejoicing in the lives saved by killing the POS is that okay?
I'd also charge the judge that let POS out too with some sort of manslaughter charge.
I did not read the story but if you take tax payers money maybe you should be held to some standards.-Cyclist

Playing the Devil's Advocate I will reply with: He was in a second floor bedroom window. He saw, he thinks, the guy reach for his waistband. Maybe his drawers were falling down. And being on the second floor I think he had a very good chance to retreat safely from the threat.
Also at the time I doubt if the shooter/attempted thieft victim had any idea whom he was dealing with, let alone his past criminal history.
Now, Would I have shot at him? Probaly but not until I heard a shot. From that distance I don't think he would have hit me and I think the shooters killing shot was very lucky (or unlucky, if you choose). But hey, that's just me talking.
Wendy's manager kills man during attempted robbery

"Police have identified a man they say was killed by the manager of a Wilmington Island, Ga., Wendy’s restaurant during an attempted armed robbery early Thursday, reports the Savannah Morning News.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police identified the gunman as William Martin Clark, 27, of the 800 block of Wexler Street. Police are still looking for his accomplice, who ran from the area after Clark was shot by the manager of the restaurant at U.S. 80 and Johnny Mercer Boulevard.
Police said store manager Robert Cody Dasher, 22, was surprised by two men wearing masks as he was cleaning the store after closing. Dasher was forced at gunpoint into an office where the two men took money and left.
The manager obtained his own handgun and walked outside into the parking lot. The newspaper reported that, “When the robbers saw the employee, Clark pointed the pistol at him and the employee fired.”
Police said they found Clark’s body and the pistol used in the robbery in the parking lot."

The local news had video last night showing the victims apartment and where the thief was laid out. It was a pretty **** good shot, especially for a kill.
