Some days the tides and the temperatures set you up for some great sight fishing opportunities. It just so happened that Christmas Eve was one of those days. My buddy and I hit the water by 7am. There was no wind, the tide was quickly moving out and at a brisk 70 degrees the stage was set for what was going to be an epic day in Matlacha. Within 15 minutes of launching our kayaks we were starting to spot redfish tailing in the distance. It wasn't long before my buddy Allen was hooked up with the first redfish of the day. We continued throwing at tails all morning and continued catching quality fish. At one point within 10 minutes I pulled 3 redfish out of one pothole along with 5 or 6 trout. It was a great early Christmas gift.
