Bear Island

rudyengrudyeng Posts: 531 Officer
Hey guys. I got a Bear Island ML reissue permit.  Is it worth the extra drive. I have not hunted bear island since the 70's.

I have a spot in turner and typically see a dozen deer but no big bucks.  Also have a great spot at Corbett.

Zero scouting since it was a reissue. Is BI a productive area ?

Thanks

Rudy

I ended up at Turner river. The water level was about 12" higher than normal but similar to previous October (wet season) water levels.  Only encountered 2 buggies during the afternoon hunt.

I put in 7 hours on my tree stand and saw nothing but it was a beautiful day.  I use the lone wolf sit & climb (fat boy version) and Hawk Wingspan tree umbrella.

Once you use a tree stand umbrella you will never want to hunt without it.
