OK, so you are headed out to try your luck, mostly as an excuse to be in the woods but kinda doing some planning for next year and who knows, you may get lucky.
Aside from the "day hike" basics (water, snacks, rain gear if potential, first aid, navigation stuff, emergency kit) and gun/ammo what other goodies do you carry?

Another thing I'm planning on adding is a lightweight hammock, beats laying or sitting on the ground.
A headlamp with spare battery.
My cellular phone in waterproof case with power pack.
Most importantly I have carried a small and simple gunshot trauma kit with me for past 30+ years. It was put together for me by my father who was a medical officer in Vietnam and he taught me how to use it. Every two years contents gets refreshed and I get a reminder on how to use it with just one hand.
I always have my trusty drone with thermal scope and gps darting tags.
