They are independent contractors, mostly LLCs.  Probably some S' s scattered around depending on investor status.
Ahhh, the ole “pass through entities” the IRS said they are going to get under control!

Now we know who caused the new hires.
Nobody should have told the treasury about those dang golfers.

LLC is not an IRS entity. S-corp is. Most of them probably have multiple LLCs and even a corporation or two depending on the need.

I would imagine Saudi money is paying the lawyers for the players.

LIV players are looking a little foolish.

"Based on this evidence, Plaintiffs have not even shown that they have been harmed - let alone irreparably," Freeman wrote."

"It is clear that the LIV Golf contracts negotiated by the Plaintiffs and consummated between the parties were based on the players' calculation of what they would be leaving behind and the amount of money they would need to compensate for those losses."

"Plaintiffs have signed contracts that richly reward them for their talent and compensate for lost opportunity through TOUR play. In fact, the evidence shows almost without a doubt that they will be earning significantly more money with LIV Golf than they could reasonably have expected to make through TOUR play over the same time period."

"She wrote: "Plaintiffs' contention that they will irreparably lose future sponsorship opportunities and career status is undermined by Plaintiffs' evidence that LIV Golf offers a refreshing new 'extremely fan-friendly' business model that will lead to 'an improved broadcast output and entertainment experience' compared to the staid old golf world built by PGA TOUR."

"If LIV Golf is elite golf's future, what do Plaintiffs care about the dust-collecting trophies of a bygone era?"

Here is what they're losing, Ferris, exposure to the largest golf audience in the world.  Unless they get a TV contract that broadcasts in the US, they will never get that back.

As the Judge pointed out, they knew exactly what they were doing.

"It is clear that the LIV Golf contracts negotiated by the Plaintiffs and consummated between the parties were based on the players' calculation of what they would be leaving behind and the amount of money they would need to compensate for those losses."

The House of Saud will buy their own network if that's what it takes.

This ain't about golf folks ...

You're correct, it's about trying to buy respectability.  It won't work.

I understand that kind of. It is and it isn't.

Well, neither the PGA nor LIV has offered me a contract.
    Course I don't play either.

I watched golf a little when Tiger was in his prime but have since lost interest. Never played one time unless minature golf counts. Still think money will prevail whether the Arabs or the PGA.

Golf has a long and storied history and believe it or not, that means something to a lot of players.

One important part of this that no has thought of is all of the sponsors like Srixon, Titleist et al are going to sponsor LIV with their products. How about taking ads in their tourny's? I don't see them doing that unless it's a huge chunk of money coming their way. Some of those companies could alienate their base by jumping from the PGA to the LIV.
