Boat Repair

Specifically the trim/Tilt unit. Has anyone changed one of these out. This is on a 60 Johnson. Everything is unhooked except the bottom pin that supports the unit. Have tried penetratingly oil and heating it up but it won't budge. The top pin came out no problem. Really don't want to take it to a shop but I have been pounding all day and it won't move. 
Just wondering if anyone has had this issue.

    I did have to take it into the shop unfortunately. Haven't heard back yet but they said they were busy. It's a 1990 and that TT has never been off the boat. Add in the last 14 years in saltwater and I think you know why it's stuck. I have to say I am impressed with its longevity. 32 years that pump worked and I never had to add hydraulic fluid.

    Yeah , I have a prop that will have to have the hub melted to get it off. I understand.

    Boat is still in the shop 😔
    Problem is that pin is in a aluminum housing and the pin itself is steel. I guess aluminum can crack if heated too much.
    This is killing me not to be out there.

    I put this over in the boating forum but only had one response. 
    I'll try here.

    Replacing the motor on my 1989 Glass Stream bass boat. It's 15ft long with a 78 inch beam.
    The original motor was a 60HP Johnson 2 stroke. My buddy has a 2010 Honda 50HP 4 stroke. I've known this guy for a while and I know he takes care of stuff so that's why I'm interested.
    When I went to look at the motor I noticed right away the prop is much smaller then mine. What I'm worried about is with that small prop would it be enough to get my boat on plane. I know you can get props with different pitch's but with it's small size would it still be enough for a decent hole shot. 
    The boat does have wood so it's heavier then a newer boat the same size. The Honda is smaller then my 60 so that would help but is it enough.
    Just curious what you guys think.

    I don't think the engine itself will be a problem. The weight of both engines probably won't be a big issue either as I'm sure they are pretty close. As with any repower the biggest thing is finding the right prop to get the engine to perform as close to the maximum range of WOT. I think for that engine it would be somewhere between 5500-6000 rpm. The prop on his boat most likely won't be the right prop for your boat. If it is the right prop I think everything would be comparable or better than your Johnson.  If not you're gonna have to try different props. Changing the mounting height of the engine will also change hole shot, midrange and top end speed and handling and might be something to consider if his prop doesn't perform as well as you'd like.
