Vilano Beach Pomps

RevJoeyFitzRevJoeyFitz North FLPosts: 211 Deckhand
Went out yesterday morning. Windfinder forecasted a breezy day with gusts up to 25 knots. However, for the first time in history they were wrong in our favor! Slight breeze from the west was pretty nice.

Got setup around the jetties with a few others. 1 decent whiting. Lots of small ones and netted some mullet for bait. No pomps which was the target species. So we made a move about 10 miles north.

Got setup with a good spread using shrimp tipped with fish bites. Within 5 minutes landed a 13” pomp on the far line. Rebaited, and got another short pomp. Relocated everything out there and it was steady for about 2 hours. Started drizzling a little, so we packed it up. All in all, not a bad day.
