Good work, piner! Would you mind sharing the depth you caught them at?

Thanks, I am trying to learn the back country of the lower keys. I wade fish and also soon will kayak. Have a good rest of your weekend.

Have you looked at key West Kayak Fishing's videos? He probably has over 1000 on his youtube page but he's got them separated by topic. Lots of stuff to learn from.

Wind is more important in a kayak than probably any other boat - or wading. The way to beat the wind in the lower keys is having multiple access points...He has a video on lower keys access points but it doesn't cover all possibilities. I've used google maps in conjunction with Monroe County FL GIS....There's SO much publicly owned land where you can plop a kayak into the water to access decent fishing on the leeward side of an island.

I'll be down 1/15 thru 3/15,fishing from my kayak nearly every day - as I have been for 6 years. Four years with a near-clone of KWKF's rig. it ain't cheap to put together but it's easy to store and easy to transport and the campground I stay at doesn't - yet - try to charge me the $20/day minimum "dockage" they charge real boats...regardless of if they're kept in the water or on a trailer....AND it opens the entire lower keys backcountry up as well as - picking my days very carefully - occasional reef and wreck fishing.

There's stuff I'd share via PM,especialy once you've got your 'yak and have a little time in.

Oh,one HUGE benefit of a 'yak like KWKF's - even without the motor - is being able to throw a cast net from it. Without tipping.
