I walked what would become the Orange Trail with a person that would end up having Everglades Conservation Area # 1 named in his honor. Trivia Question: Has Bob Graham walked the Trail (s) ?
    Marjorie Stoneman Douglas? Her Dad?..,,,,
I never wondered why and how “ Blue” and “ Orange” Trail were named.
My personal interest and files were focused on other items.
I would like to get back down there some time. Hunt. Camp. Ramble.
In the meantime, The Ocala To Osceola Conservation Corridor O2O  is far more compelling.
“ Plaid” Trail, with many “ Tie- dye” side trails.
Hunters are present yet relatively uncommon in Florida :wink

See that's why nobody hunts it..
It's about as unhunted as you can get in Big Cypress..and it's real close to the road.

Soon as you go under the I 75 Bridge you'll come to a small bridge.
Left , West side you'll see some big rocks. The NPS put the rocks there to block the Blue Trail from buggys. The trail is still there but a bit overgrown.
Solid swamp to start then pops up into Pines.
Big chunk of land back in  there . I use to take a jonboat down the Alley canal and go inland from there. You can walk it but if the waters deep it'll be real deep in the first part of the Blue trail.
Shot a couple nice Bucks right in them Pines.
