According to the data most of the fence rows and small farms were destroyed by corporate ag many many years before bush and his ethanol fiasco.
.
You just as easily could have said the Carter fiasco and ethanol since he actually started it.
"Carter pushed through Congress the Energy Tax Act of 1978, which exempted gasohol (gasoline blended with 10 percent ethanol) from the 4 cent per gallon federal excise tax, amounting to a 40 cent per gallon subsidy to ethanol."
But......much easier to blame Bush.
Really in all fairness its greed on both sides.
Republicans like to feign shock and dismay when the hear about large campaign donations, shady deals, etc but will ask their brethren to step down when guilt is present, whereas a lib likes to blame Bush, the reps, and will fully support any shenanigans a Dem did and insist its the Rep's fault.

Thanks for setting me straight. I did not know the history went back so far. Bush made it mandated, which gave it a big jump.
The new generation biofuels will be much better. Algae, waste stock, etc.
Actually in my part of Ohio most of the beans go to the veggie burger plant. The majority of our fence rows and habitat went away during Clinton's admin. but I don't blame him for it, just the Eco-****.
