The reds were happy in the sassa area with all that high water, but the bite lasted on till noon. Spoons were the favorites and I stopped to catch bait on the way out that never got used. Here is a nice overslot fight. overslot 073121 - YouTube
I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.
Seems like it would be to hot for catching reds in close right now. I could be wrong ? I know when you run south you find all the expanse of mangroves down there and it looks fishy.

I know a few guys that like to fish deep in the creeks now and they do well, but the bigger fish I see are outside. they are not running away from the hot water tho and those mangroves are holding fish, i had plenty of site fish opportunities and even one nosing my fly that just wouldn't eat it. but again those mangroves are thick from mangrove point to the keys.
