Q: How many group members does it take to change a light bulb ?
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.
17 purists who use candles and are offended by light bulb discussions.
6 to argue over whether it's 'lightbulb' or 'light bulb'.
Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid.
22 to tell THOSE 6 to stop being jerks.
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is 'lamp'.
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that 'light bulb' is perfectly correct.
49 to post memes and gifs (several are of Michael Jackson eating popcorn with the words added, “I’m just here for the comments.”)
19 to post that this page is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a light bulb page.
11 to defend the posting to this page saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant here.
24 to discuss the merits of LED/swirly fluorescent light bulbs
44 to claim LED and fluorescent bulbs will kill you.
36 People to post pics of their own light bulbs.
15 People to post "I can't see S$%^!" and use their own light bulbs.
6 to report the post or PM an admin because someone said "f÷×$"
4 to say "Didn't we go through this already a short time ago?".
13 to say "Do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs".
1 to bring politics into the discussion by adding that (insert politician of choice) isn't the brightest bulb. This usually takes place within the first three comments.
50 more to get into personal attacks over their political views.
5 admins to ban the light bulb posters who took it all too seriously.
1 late arrival to comment on the original post 6 months later and start it all over again.

1 to bring up something unrelated in an attempt to steer the conversation away from lightbulbs because deep down they know they are wrong about the light bulb.

To answer the question correctly, I will need ALOT more information than this. Application, surrounding environment etc……This is the problem with people trying to figure out wattage. Just no DAM common sense!!!!🤬

The OP’s numbers seem to be off as only a few posters would change the burnt out bulb, most in here would rather sit in the dark before embracing change

Several requests for pictures of the light bulb changers wife, girlfriend and sister should be included as well.

Im pretty sure we need to find the amount of space it’ll require.

It’s not a joking matter, some people take this stuff super serial, and it could lead to somebody arguing over the right amount of square footage each type of bulb will illuminate.
And let’s not forget about the laws, and history of the law in each municipality regarding the type of light to be used in its intended location.

I never imagined it was this complicated.  Should I consider whether the light bulb/bulb/lamp really wants to change?
I know all about common cents, but this is really beginning to confuse me.

It was the ease of screwing in the bulb (which Edison patented) that set his bulb apart from the others.

That and it was a whiter light.

1 person to let you all know that they bought a light bulb on Amazon that syncs to your phone via bluetooth and has a speaker so you can play music if you plug it into your flood light outside.   I'm not sure who that person would be, but the light bulb is $30 and comes with a remote ;)

Volume isn't as loud as i'd like but it works well enough.  You can actually sync up to 4 I believe so you can have more than enough sound.  Drawback is it's not an outdoor bulb so when you're done with it you have to take it down and bring it inside.  it gets wet, it's toast.    at least that's what i heard.

We will continue arguing until it goes out or Yamaha (or other brand) makes a new better light bulb that actually produces electricity!

Not with modern air conditioning equipment...

Everything is going "inverter" technology; i.e. changing A/C current to D/C motors.

Most all those "mini-split" systems; i.e. Mitsubishi style (that's what everyone knows it as) and most of your high efficiency systems are now inverter systems when it comes to the motors.

My joke to people to see if they know their history is "Well, Edison finally won a battle".....

    Good to know!
What voltage are they going with?
I’m looking at a 9 kw solar system someone turned me on to recently.
Do you know approximately what the amperage draw is?

  • NickhoogNickhoog Posts: 1,224 Officer
    most are 230v 1ph 60 hzt
you can get 9-12k btu in 115v
A/h's usually only pull less than an amp
total amperage is around 15 to 25 MOCP
    on 9-24k btu
anything larger I'd need to check

I have a Mitsubishi split system in a 240 sq. ft. home gym.

    It will chill it to 70 F on a 95 F day.

    Edison = General Electric

    Tesla = Westinghouse
