Left the FIT ramp at 8am with forum member JTS and his son to catch the outgoing tide. Water was surprisingly clean and not many floating weeds. Bait schools were scarce ? Didn't really see any in 12 - 20'..
Actually trolled some but no takers so anchored and fished dead herring. Got a couple shark and a really big ray. Took some time but got two grouper with one throwback. Moved out to 18' and hit gumbo. Wasn't super bad but always a little annoying. It's on the bottom and brown so shouldn't be around much longer.
Tide started to slow and picked up 3 keepers with two being decent size. Unfortunately had a couple of googans around , they know who they are.
Ended up with a couple of limits for the guys to enjoy.
