Fishing today was like sex, we started off hard and doing well, then petered out, followed by a very strong finish!
It
was off at 7 with Joe, a good friend from Atlanta to meet the bait boat.
First stop and Joe’s first cast and he lands a Snooklet, about four casts later
he lands another Snooklet. We fished from the Manatee Pocket to the Beach
and then all the way up to the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. Joe is
a very experienced Offshore Fisherman but I think I changed his mind about
inshore fishing as he landed 11 Snook, including a slot at 31 inches that
became dinner. He has never eaten Snook before and it might be one of his
favorite fish now which was grilled with creole seasoning. He also landed
a big Spanish Mackerel, Barracuda and a few Jacks. I didn’t contribute
much today, only landing 5 Snooklets and a few Jacks.
Had
a great day with Joe and the plan is to fish together again on Friday.
