Last Friday Afternooner - Pompano Bch 7 May 2021

John McKroidJohn McKroid Posts: 3,984 Captain
It was a beautiful afternoon to launch out of Pompano Bch, water like a lake and clear visibility to 50ft, I could look down and see the bottom.  On the nearshore reefs, I looked to catch some runners, but had no luck and had to settle for 3 grunts as live bait.

The grunts were slow trolled deep and eventually, all did get bit but I missed the strikes because I was too preoccupied with jigging.  I suspect a Shark, Cuda and maybe a Snapper.

Meter marks were there, but the clear water deterred a strike.  I was hoping to jig up a blackfin for sushi.  Instead, I eventually got poor man's tuna

The wind came up bad around 4pm and blew me off the water.  I did have one lucky slow pitch drop to get dinner!
