I don't know where you fish out of, however, get to 45'-65' out of John's Pass, use your bottom machine on bottom zoom, manual settings, and start looking and dropping baits. Where there are grunts there are hogs, they're both wrasses and hang together. Bring lots of shrimp and start weeding through the grunts, you'll get hogs. Much more rewarding than having to trade for numbers. There's a reason the Great American Grunt Hunt has a Hogfish division.
Get in touch with me. I spearfish a lot and target Hogs. Would love to have some ARS numbers as it is my wife's favorite fish but I just can't seem to find them.
That's right on top of the RJ Thompson, isn't it? I've dove it many times and rarely saw hogs there, but that was years ago and maybe things have changed.

Good hogfish spot - start here and look around nearby. One and a half ounce hog balls.
