MinnKota Ultera electric motors

Four years ago,I bought a MinnKota electric motor. But beware of the Ultera model
because the very expensive repairs will start. Why?First there are two motors that
are used to perform its functions;raise/lower and stow/deploy.Second,it has an exposed
drive belt which goes into saltwater.Third, the motor will not work w/o the remote.
When the repair bills start to approach the original cost,it time to go back to what

I’ve run bay boats with Ulterra TMs (both 24 and 36 volt models) for customers of mine...  The recreational users seem happy with them.  I do know one full time guide that had lots of trouble with his, though...

As for me, I’m happy with my Terrova and try to keep my gear as simple as possible- avoiding extra “bells and whistles”...
