West Coast (Florida) Rentals

Have been up and down the east coast of Florida to vacation. Looking to mix it up a little as the Keys have just gotten to crazy for me anymore. Used to go to Sarasota and Port St Joe as kid a bunch and loved it but that was before I had a boat. Looking to fish, eat, drink and relax with the family. Anyone have some recs on west coast areas that are excellent vacation spots??

Thanks,
D

Very budget friendly or a little bit of a splurge? Sawgrass & old Florida style or sugar sand beaches and fancy restaurants? The first I would say Homosassa, the 2nd SW Florida like Anna Maria, or more low key Boca Grande or Sanibel. I have a rental house on Boca Grande on the bayou with a boat house if interested, but depending on what time of year is $350-$550 per night plus cleaning and other fees/taxes. We also have a house in Homosassa on the water but don’t rent it. Both are great just very different, can’t go wrong with either.

Bradenton and Anna Maria Island is our favorite go place on the west coast. Great canal homes for rent on this site. https://www.annamariaparadise.com/ The beach is within walking distance from a lot of these homes on the canals. Tampa Bay is right there with great fishing. Snook in the surf at sun up. The place is hard to beat.

Annie's Bait and Tackle is a slice of old Florida with a great burger...cool place to go by boat. several other restaurants on the water.

Several bars that have live music and best of all they have the "Monkey Bus"...they're old short school buses hippie'd  out that only take donations to ride.

    Great restaurants as well.
