Ocean Pointe fishing

Hi all, I have booked in for a week in Early February for me and my two boys at Ocean pointe, and was wondering what around at that time of year? also we will be fishing at the resort so anyone know what's it possible to catch from the resort please?
We will be going out on a party boat for a day or two full day trips as a Charter is too expensive due to the layoff's over Cocid 19, work stopped for a few months putting a bit of a damper on our vacation from the UK.
All advice welcome and thanks,
            Bill.

There is a small jetty off the marina at Ocean Pointe but it's not too deep. Likely catches will be grunts and mangrove snappers. Post a reminder as the trip nears. Maybe someone will offer a boat ride for you and the kids.

Many thanks, but by boys they are both grown up one 29 the other 19, but I still call them my boys. I don't mind paying for the fuel if I go out with someone, also I have my own boat so wouldn't be a burden. I will be bring my own rods and reels as I have been coming over for a long time now so have plenty of good equipment for anything I encounter there other that Goliath Grouper. But I will keep on exploring.

Buy a cast net when you arrive along with a bait bucket. Find pilchards or any bait fish from shore. Freeline those baits with floro leader. Drop the bait in with the bail open and wait for the line to start flying off the reel. Then close the bail and get your fish. Best bet is under a dock or pier if possible. Id release anything under 12 inches. Less than 12" and filleting gets pointless in my opinion. Not enough yield of meat.

Many thanks, I bring a cast net with me so usually get some fresh bait or Sabiki's for the Pinfish. We rarely keep anything caught from the shore unless it of a decedent size. We might go out on a Party boat for a day or two.

    Cheers' Bill.
