50 fish < 24 hrs

Hit the Sanibel beach last Sunday night at dusk and proceeded to haul in a lifetime supply of Whiting on a 3/8 oz SPRO white Bucktail, my favorite lure.  Caught about 40 or so in 45 minutes, all within 20' of the water line.  It was fast and furious.  Caught the first one within a second of my first cast hitting the water.  Most were 12-14", a few at 18-20".  For the first 20 minutes or so I had more hookups than casts since one fish would throw the hook and another one would immediately hop on.  I had to stop because the bucktail got absolutely shredded.  It's quite possible I could have thrown a gum wrapper out there instead.

The next day I took the kayak out to the Ding -- McIntire Creek.  Unfortunately I hit it almost exactly at low tide and had to walk it out a couple hundred yards.  Once I got into the creek I started catching snapper, reds, and my best (and second biggest I've ever seen) Sheep. ****, why didn't I take a pic?  I did get a few nibbles, probably snapper, on a paddletail, but all the catching was on shrimp. A memorable evening and morning in SWFL.
