  Also, I don't think any kind of floating dock will work for me because the water I'm on is pretty open and gets rough enough that I just don't think a floating dock would be safe enough.

  I know.  I used to hate them too but I had to sell my boat and I've been waiting to try to buy another and came across the new Sea-Doo fish Pro and from the youtube videos it looks like a blast.
