Okuma Stratus VI Baitcasting Reel?.

I purchased a Okuma Stratus VI Baitcasting reel at ****'s Sporting goods about a week and a half ago - on sale for $49.00.
I've had nothing but trouble with it from the start - almost immediately developed a clunky/grinding noise and now totally locks up after casting.  The thumb release sticks down and won't release without manually popping it up.  I know that it's not a "top of the line" reel, but for $50. I would think I should be able to expect reasonable quality?
I'm going to try and return it to ****'s  - spend a little more for a quality reel (hopefully I won't have a problem...I've probably spent $300 - $400 at ****'s over the last month).
I'd recommend that you stay away from this reel...very poor quality.  Guess you get what you pay for, right?  Lol

I had an upper end Okuma spinning reel once. Had an issue with a missing part from assembly. They sent the washer and 3 or 4 spoons as a gift. ****'s will take it back. I'm liking my new Tatula 150 but double the price.

Caught a ton of fish on this reel, casts a mile, smooth as silk. I was amazed!

I have one ^^  .   It's actually a decent reel. It will torque some on a big fish with drag tight , but pretty smooth. Believe it has like 12 bearings.
