Live Bait for Flounder

I know that finger mullet, mud minnows and shrimp will work in that order of preference from my experience. But what about pig fish? Will they oink em in?

The typical FL flounder is a 12-20 inch fish.  They have a smallish size mouth - trout and reds have more mouth than them.

Where I'm going with this is, size your bait to the fish you are trying to catch.  We've caught some flounder using 4-6 inch menhaden for bait and yes, they were big ones.  Probably would have mopped up on em with 3 and 4 inch mud minnows but we didn't have those...

Will they eat a pin or pig fish?  Absolutely.  Can they fit the baitfish and your hook into their mouth?  That's the question.

Easiest way to catch em is mud minnow - that is the absolute easiest way to catch flounder.
