Need someone to work on a boat trailer tire

Tandem axle road king, one of the tires has a slow leak, 15-20psi per month that i can’t find. I don’t pull the boat far, and check it each time, but it needs fixed

live on naval station mayport where the boat is also stored, looking nearby

You used a soapy detergent water spray bottle? If you haven't been able to detect the leak while the tire is on the trailer, suggest you pull the tire off and check it all around both sides of the rim and especially the valve. I've driven myself nuts looking for a leak that was on the bottom, so be sure to rotate the tire. If it's a very slow leak, and between treads, it might be very hard to see while on the trailer. If you have a tub or container that will fit the tire, fill it with enough water to immerse over the rim, dip the tire into the water and rotate it while watching for the escaping bubbles tell-tale... that's what we used to use before the soapy water spray. Soapy water is easier. Depending on your boat and trailer, you'll have to decide if it's worth chancing running on a repaired tire. To me, it isn't.

FYI - You may decide to just save yourself the hassle of finding and patching or plugging and concern about the higher potential for roadside repair and just get a new tire. I never repair my trailer's tires. I replace at the slightest sign of a potential problem.

any recommendations for shop to replace the tire? I don’t have a good place to take the tire off and let it sit on a jack

i have had a tire removed and dunked and it still leaked even though it never bubbled at the tire shop. could be the valve stem. could be something a can of fix a flat fixes forever.

only issue with the can of fix of flat is eating away the inside of your wheel, its a good short term fix if need be but not a long term solution.

I like Wilson Trailer in Mayport for repairs, but for tires I always go to Discount Tire. I think any location can hook you up. Personally I would just go to NAPA and get a new tire/wheel.

Have it replaced right there on base at the auto skills center. . if not there then the napa. . the auto skills center has a tire machine. just go get a new tire or let them fix the old one. .you can leave it on the jack in the storage yard. .
