I haven't been using
braid lines that long. Just a couple years.
I mainly fish inshore for reds and trouts. Ive been using Suffix braid and like it. I used to be able to find it in a yellow color, which I liked cause I could see it and it didn't seem to bother the fish. The low vis green is very hard to see in the murky inshore waters that we have here.
Anyways, Im fixing to order some 10lb and 20lb braid and was wondering what other people have experienced with there favorite braid.
I like the 10lb braid for long casts of jigs on my lightest outfit for sight casting and such The 20 pound I use for twitch lures and spinners. Really wish I could find 14lb...
WIth these setups above, I am catching fish out in the open where you can let them take drag and such. Need very long casts.....low memory line. And no, I do not use any kind of leaders.
My bait caster have 20lb stren mono for topwater and dock fishing...dock fishing, no drag... just drag the fish out fast.
Anyways....let me know what you like and use

Daiwa j braid x8. I like white for high visibility. I like to buy 1500m & 3000m bulk spools.

Not a fan of PowerPro. I've had issues in quality control.
The problem was blobbing and breaking much lower than the rated test, and it happened only with lines 50lb and under. Never had a problem with 60 or 80 which I use a bunch of still. It's quite good line once it gets broken in (a bit stiff until then), but I stopped using it completely for 20-50lb braid in favor of the lines I mentioned above.
Lastly, it's been probably 8 years since it happened, and I wasn't the only one to report the problems, so perhaps they've solved the issue in the meantime.
But that's just me and my anecdotal experience, nothing more, and for what it's worth, PP did replace the spools for free.
Powerpro had serious problems , but they might have fixed them since Shimano bought them out. But I had so many problems I have not looked back since.

What do you use these days?
I came up with a custom knot of my own creation, a long time ago. I tie about 3' of double PP with a spider hitch. Then use my custom knot to attach flouro leader. It can be tricky for most people to tie what I tie effectively. My double line loop end stays intact, the leader has an almost invisible tag after I trim it. I've literally never had that knot fail. and it has virtually a zero diameter signature vs. say a blood knot.
