Country ham is hard to beat, but Nettle's sausage is the best.  Hands down.

I bring home a cleaned, small permit almost every morning. My wife dices it up, adds some raw conch, chopped onion, cliantro, tomato and habanero. Coats the whole thing with two or three limes. We eat that along side eggs over easy, with a splash of melted butter and Worcestershire on the eggs.

But hard to beat bacon, which we add to almost everything else I cook.

At Ponce Inlet in the 1970's, at the end of Beach Street where "Down The Hatch" restaurant is, there was commercial docks and a restaurant to service them (over the water) and you could get fried flounder, eggs, grits, toast & coffee for a couple bucks and change.  It might sound odd at first, but fried fish and eggs is almost a natural pairing.
    Still there,,,,,

Amazing - I thought all that was long gone.  You have visited?  I used to hang out around there a lot, got my name in the Daytona paper for catching large bluefish off the Ponce jetty.  Worked in the hangar on planes at night and would take off fishing in the morning.

Good memory from the old days.  There use to be good diners in all the small towns.

As a person that like calves liver, I like it for breakfast with eggs and grits.
