Horseshoe Beach Report

Went out to HS Beach yesterday with the plan to try and get some pin fish and head out for some seabass/whatever would bite in 30ish feet of water. Well, it was a bit choppy and pretty breezy. So, we decided to stay on the flats.

Lots of bait pods and fish busting them up. Started by Pepperfish Key. Water clarity was good. Moved the boat once and drifted for hours with almost never ending action.

Caught lots of trout, more than I could count. Caught some Spanish and had several cutoffs. Buddy caught a nice 20 1/2” flounder and a big pompano, first one I’ve ever seen out there. Fished all artificial and jigs in 3’ to 4’ of water over spotty bottom.

All in all, we finished with 19 keeper trout, 2 Spanish, a pomp and a flounder. It was a great day.
