Water Clarity North and South

Has the water in the Titusville/Mosquito Lagoon area cleared up as the water has in the south IRL?  I could actually see bottom in 5 to 6 feet in some places down south. Be nice if some real sea grass would start sprouting. The clear water makes for interesting fishing. Seeing all the fish that are not interested in your offering is frustrating but I did manage 3 reds on a Vudu shrimp Fri morning that I sight cast to.

I ran into the same problem on Saturday. Gin clear water and nothing but refusals.

I noticed clear water up here in Ormond Beach as well. Went back to last year's fishing log and it started to clear up Jan 15, 2019 and Jan 21, 2018 so it must be a seasonal thing as the summer rains are gone and less runoff. The fish are spooky in tannic water so in gin clear water your approach has to be the same as fishing for bonefish. And of course a little luck never hurts but this clear water is nice while it lasts.

It happens in a lot of places. As the water gets cooler less algae, etc. will grow in it so the water gets clearer. It does it in places like Chesapeake Bay. The water gets clear up there in winter and early spring and then it clouds up in summer. Rainfall and nutrients, i.e. fertilizer and human waste, that enter a body of water also contribute to this phenomenon along with water temperature.
Down here in Sykes creek it's spotty, one of my spots is still a little muddy but another spot a 1/4 mile away it's super clear except for a little tannin stain I can see the bottom good in 3 to 4 feet.

From what I've seen it always gets clearer in  the wintertime.
