8 Jan 2020...Wabasso/Vero...Amateur hour times three. Started the day at Hobart Landing, total waste, one Puffer and a baby Snapper. Picked up a Dolphin Escort, started with one and ended with five. Tip of Pine Island, pait of Puffers. Hole In The Wall, South, nothing. North Sister, dead. South Sister picked up a Little Ugly. Spoil islands, three short Trout, like not even 12 inches. Grand Harbor channel, another short Trout. Vero/Rag Baggers Row. Not a whole lot of room left. Pitching docks with Baby Vudu Shrimp on 4 # test for Sheepshead. First stop, first Snook of the year. Further down, see a group of Sheepies and Snapper, no players. Pitch to the back of the next section, bump, run, cut off on Oysters. Retie, next section pitch to the back, bump, run, cut off again. Both times amateur moves, did not anticipate big Snook today. As I moved away to the next dock, saw a pair of bruisers on the outside pilings. At the bridge, solid with Jacks, bump or hook up on every cast. Tide right, head to Grand Harbor and the Golf Cart Bridge. Good clearance today, Jacks and short Snook. Act three of amateur hour. Spotted a big Red swimming through the Mangroves. Pitch the Baby Vudu into the rocks, landed on top of one. Dead stick time, Red swam out and ate it. Put too much pressure on and destroyed the TA Clip, fish gone. Saw a good sized Snook floating, been dead for a while. Work back out. Worked the ditch and South bridge. Nothing but Jacks, Ladies and short Snapper. Decided to go back under the Golf Cart Bridge, good choice, 18 inch Trout in the channel. Back inside, counted 7 Jacks a Cuda and 3 more Short Snook. Head for home, hard part of the day, running full into the wind and current. Stopped at the Pine Island cut. Picked up a 21 inch Trout, several short Snapper and another Cuda. Only thing working today was the Baby Vudu Shrimp. All players released for another day.
