Hey guys, i live in Fort Lauderdale and have never caught a Pompano. Can anybody give me some tips on where and how to catch them ? I can fish from the beach right now, and should have my boat up and running soon
I’ve been catching good size ones on the beach from Jensen to Stuart. Fish Bites with clam strips or sand fleas. You’ve got to catch the high, 30 min prior until 30 min after has been working for the last month. The type of Fish Bites and float colors have not seemed to matter, the tide is the key along with a long cast

Where is the best place to park with easy beach access to the beach where you can fish in that area? Also I would interested in your typical setup you use to catch the pompano. I live in Boca but have been thinking about heading up that way and try and fish the beach.
Beach parking is free up there and public beach access with fishing is everywhere! its a whole different world one hour north and if it’s your first time going you will think about moving the first night you get back to Boca

Awesome... you mean you don’t have to pay $25 to park like you do in Boca ... lol
B1gdog83- You can fish anywhere there are no life guards in Martin and St Lucie. Hobe Sound is good, South of Stuart beach and all the way up to Jensen there are multiple beach access with good parking. I use a 2 hook rig with fishbites and tip with clam or sand fleas. Just look for clean water
