7/20 Red Snapper The Final Day

The plan was to get to the spot early, get our 3 fish, and head home. Ended up having to wait an hour or so for a thunder storm to pass before we could go around it. When we finally get to the spot another storm was approaching. We were scrambling to get the third fish in the box and as soon as we pulled #3 over the rail it started coming down. It went from flat calm to 25kt winds in seconds. We hit the throttle and got out of there. I think we only got to fish for maybe 1 hour before we had to leave. My niece got her first red snapper. She was using a conventional reel and dropped it down, hooked up, and reeled in that fish all on her own.
