Thunnus baitrunner on surf rod

SaltyLocalSaltyLocal ClearwaterPosts: 26 Greenhorn
Hi All,

I'm looking to pair a Shimano Thunnus to my Mojo 10'6" 2-6 oz rod for chucking bait. The Thunnus 6k and 8k models weight difference is only 1.5 oz, but the 8k offers roughly 50 yard more line capacity. Anyone know if the physical sizing between the two is different and is 1.5 ozadded weight worth the extra 50 yard line capacity? I'm planning on pairing either reel with 30 lb braid. Any suggestions?
