Boca Raton offshore report: 5/6/19

With lots of seaweed floating in & a calm forecast, we headed offshore out of Boca inlet on Monday (5/6/19). It was a frustrating day with not many signs of life and scattered weed all over with no organization. We finally found some mahi under a small floating piece of wood. We started chunking and caught 2 keepers, but they would not eat cut sardines, squid, or any artificial lures/jigs... Trolled a bit more only to catch 1 cuda. Finished off the afternoon with some deep dropping in 800 feet of water, but it was too difficult to hold the bottom with the current & wind. Overall it was a tough day, but still blessed to get out there. The macadamia nut crusted mahi was very tasty for dinner tonight as well. Good luck out there!
