  Found a black drum school also north of Titusville. Wouldn’t take any plastic (of course). But one sucked in a chunk of mullet. Caught a 38”er, pretty tough on light tackle.

  Water was pretty clear for us, You could easily see 3’ down.

  Unfortunately most of the flats up to 2’ deep were strictly sand bottom but we did see some reds cruising them. We caught the black drum on what was a 3’ deep edge where it transitioned from “grass” to sand. I wouldn’t call what we saw grass but it was some sort of vegitation just not the typical what I always called “eel grass” but it was holding fish.

  The water clarity does change quickly. I go at least once a week weather permitting. Every time I go it’s different. With sand and mud bottom it gets turbid easily.

  hope you have a shallow water boat, launching out of Scottsmoor.  I have a gheenoe and I had a heck of a time getting out of there.
  
  P.S. hope you guys left some of that black drum for us, heading out there this weekend.
