50' Hudson

Running out in the soup, bait was hard but finally had a well full of pigfish and squirrel fish.  On out to a number in 50' and found it crowded, but not so much that we could not fish.  We trolled the last 1.5 miles to the spot and caught nothing.  Anchored several times in the area but caught nothing but short reds and gags plus a lot of grunts.  I did catch an octopus on a flat fall jig.  Most of the fish I caught came on the flat fall.

I had an octopus yesterday on a shrimp.  It sucked itself onto the side of the boat.

We went out as well out of Hudson yesterday morning and the fog was REALLY thick.  went out to about 20 miles then bounced around for a few hours catching nothing but shorts.  Had live pins, small grunts, and a ton of frozen bait but couldn't get any keepers in the boat.  The seas were flat calm and running was great though.  Felt like there wasn't much of a current on the bottom.
