I know a reputable guy with a legit established business (in North Florida) who had some brand new Honda EU2200 generators for $850, a few weeks ago. Pretty sure that includes sales tax. Best price I found, but not until right after I paid $925 somewhere else (the 925 included shipping though). Let me know if you are interested and I'll send his number.
By the way, the new 2200 has a redesigned on/off switch. Now, you can choose to shut off the gas before stopping engine.
Somebody stole my canoe when I was deer hunting a few years back. it was a real POS....I went and bought the closest thing to what I wanted and modified it to perfectly fit my needs. It's a joy to paddle - especially with a deer in it. Handles beautifully...if I ever find out who stole that first canoe I'll first tell'em what I think of thieves. Then I'll tell'em to keep the dam thing and "enjoy". I don't want it back.
I'm sure Tankturd will be along shortly, but I'm going to steal his fire with his stolen canoe story. Anyhow, many years ago, his canoe was stolen from the pond at the farm he lived at. He found a wallet right where the canoe used to be. Went to the address and spoke to the parent's of the young man who owned the wallet. LOL!
AC Man - I carry a bow,a tree stand and climbing sticks,a pack and - hopefully on the way back - a dead deer in my 12' canoe. That'd be tough to do on my Hobie...besides,I spend deer season in WI. I'm often paddling that canoe in freezing temps. Get wet then sit in a tree for a few hours? I've done it in the high 40's but I can't sit still and accuracy suffers when I'm cold.
I replaced the molded plastic seat in the Old Town with webbing seat. Raised it a couple inches and forward a few inches. If there's venison in the bow my sticks/stand will fit under the seat. Barely. Pack goes behind me and bow goes on the deer. It's a load but it's a NICE load. Canoe handles well - as opposed to that ancient Fiberlite with bondo bandaids all over.
