Trying to replace an old wood panel that my steering wheel is anchored to along with gauges it possible to do without taking it completely apart from the back ..already have new starboard with new toggles installed. Spent a couple of hours on it yesterday ....put it all back so it was functional until I could learn something🤔

It depends on how your helm and steering wheel are fastened. The popular Teleflex push-pull cable steering has to have the wheel removed, then the bezel, and the fasteners are then accessable to remove the back side rotary or rack and cable assembly
